Step Three: Education & Finding the Perfect Diamond

The goal of this step is to educate the customer about the 5 C’s: carat, color, clarity, cut and cost. While using the Smart Diamond Grids to help find them the perfect diamond.

1. Here is where we give the customer a diamond education about the 4 c’s using the tools on the diamond viewer. Show them the differences in carat, color, clarity, and cut. We can use the diamond viewer at this point to show the diamonds in a way a gemologist would see them without needing a microscope or a loupe. 

2. The 5th “C” is also important to demonstrate in how we determine our diamond pricing. Show the customer the live dealer price. Be sure to explain the transparency of our buy, sell, upgrade model.  Also explain that our live pricing shows us an up-to-date view based on the price of millions of diamonds listed around the world at wholesale prices. This ensures that the customer is getting the best, most competitive price possible on every diamond in the Diamond Bar. 

3. Now we use the Smart Diamond Grids and our customers feed back to help them compare diamonds to pick the one that is perfect for them. Remember going up on the grid diamonds get more expensive and larger in carat, and that going left-to-right across the grids make diamonds get better in quality and more expensive. 

4. When we put diamonds back in the case, turn the Lucite boxes upside down and log new diamonds by clicking the diamond button on the tablet. 

5. While transitioning from round to other shapes use the diamonds in stock first before transitioning to Diamonds in the Vault to help find the perfect diamond for them.

6. After they pick the perfect diamond, always ask for the sale and sell the diamond or get the customer information and start a wishlist.

7. If the client needs time to think about the purchase, follow up with a link to the diamond and whatever mountings they were looking at, and or a handwritten thank you note for coming in to see us at the Diamond Bar. Personal touches like this make all the difference in creating customers for life.
