Diamond Tasting Rules

These rules must be followed during every Diamond Tasting.

Failure to follow these rules leaves your store vulnerable to losing or mixing up loose diamonds.

1. Only show three (3) diamonds at a time. If you need to pull out a fourth diamond, return one to the case first.

2. Always sign into the diamond tasting page on the web with your login and password 

3. When pulling a diamond from the Smart Diamond Grid you must pull it up on the Viewer to ensure that we have logged it out from the case. 

4. As we take diamonds out and as we put diamonds back into the case visually verify the diamond with a loupe and checking with the diamond viewer to ensure it is the right diamond. 

5. Always keep your eyes on the diamonds and other inventory, never turning your back or losing track of where each diamond is. 

6. Once we have sold a diamond before it is set or leaves the building, another associate has to verify the diamond is the correct diamond and initial the store copy of the sales receipt.

7. By the end of every day get a different associate to double check and sign off in the diamond bar website that the diamonds you shown are back in the case and verified against the diamond viewer and a GIA inscription number.  While doing this be sure to double check that the diamond is in the proper Lucite cube, with the top of the cube matching the tag on the bottom.
